About Me
Making music is a way to connect and communicate with others. It has proven benefits for everyone, from relieving stress and tension, to elevating mood, and stimulating memory. I can personally attest to those benefits, as music has been a vital force in my life since my early childhood in Hungary. I started playing piano at age five and I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t making music in some way.
My formal education is international: I got my Bachelor's degree from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, and after receiving a Fulbright scholarhip I earned my Master's and Doctoral degrees from The University of Texas at Austin. In the last 25 years I've had the privilege to teach students of different levels and ages, from total beginners to university undergraduate and gradute students. I also love teaching students who are coming back to music after decades of not playing or singing. I love the challenge of finding the best way to connect with them and discovering the best approach for their learning. I am passionate about bringing music into my student’s lives and watching how they bring out the best in themselves.
